My recent trip to South America with Girls on Tour and Judy Polkinghorne as our tour escort was truly an amazing adventure. I've had my heart set on this continent and the jewels of it's countries for quite some time and I must say that it didn't disappoint. It was everything I'd hoped for and more. We encountered breathtaking views, stunning landscapes, fascinating history and exhilarating experiences. All aspects of our tour were organized to achieve maximum spectacular sightseeing opportunities, fun and excitement. Our small group was perfect- lots of laughter and friendship. The local guides were passionate about their profession and were able to impart valuable information about their country and it's people. Judy is an exceptional tour escort. She was always willing to support and help, way beyond her call of duty. Her aim was to ensure that we all got the most out of our dream trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip to any adventurous spirit and I would certainly consider joining Judy on another tour. An added bonus was the Facebook updates which Judy posted daily. These allowed family and friends to follow our fantastic journey and know that we were safe.. Judy also included 'Postcards from South America'- a journal to savour on our return.

Thanks Judy.

Looking forward to my next trip with you.

Hi Judy,
I want to thank you for a fantastic Balkans tour holiday.
My first trip with Girls on Tour – talk about starting at the top!

I hadn’t done a group tour since Uni days and I‘d never gone on a holiday with people I hadn’t met!

I have just got back from your small group, personally escorted women’s only Girls On Tour Balkans trip; what a delight it was spending three weeks with the nicest group of women you could find anywhere, and it didn’t take me long to realise that your organising and co-ordination was of the highest level along with your friendliness and composure.

The local guides you arranged were truly exceptional. The captivating Tamara and Ivana became friends after a short time, and as well as giving us information on the history and sights, they unselfishly provided a personal perspective on their families and their lives in the Balkans which added an unanticipated understanding and dimension to our trip.

What a secret gem the Balkans turned out to be for me.

I was expecting to see some Roman ruins, but not one of the six best preserved amphitheatres in the world at Pula (along with Italy, France and Tunisia).

I was expecting to see some waterfalls, but not 16 majestic interlinked lakes, creating constantly flowing crystal clear aqua waterfalls at Plitvice Lakes National Park

I didn’t realise I would see the longest preserved fortified wall in Europe at Ston (the world’s second longest after the Great Wall of China)

I had been told that Dubrovnik was beautiful, but I wasn’t expecting that it would be so welcoming and surrounded by sparkling water and constantly moving sea craft of every description.

I didn’t know I would be able to see a 500 year old Arboretum, containing Renaissance gardens and examples of Jacaranda and Eucalypt collected from around the world.

I had been told the Adriatic Sea was lovely – but didn‘t realise how much I would enjoy a refreshing swim in the cleanest water I have ever seen anywhere.
I didn’t know I would experience what a fresh locally grown apricot is supposed to taste like

I didn’t know the Croatian people would be so welcoming and generous and hospitable – what a treat.

I had a truly magical trip with Girls On Tour. Thanks so much Judy.

The Treasures of the Balkans what an amazing trip we have just been on. From the time we arrived in Zagreb, Croatia, the history of the country and such friendly welcome from the people. To Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj in Slovenia. The Roman ruins in Pula, the amazing coastline and the beautiful lakes of Plitvice and Krka National Park. I think we all fell in love with Trogir. The Old Town. Our evening with Ira who cooked local dishes and the wines by her husband Boris.

Some much beauty of the whole country. Mostar in Bosnia. Kotor in Montenegro. Dubrovnik what a city. Cruising around the islands in this area. Our driver for the tour was from the beautiful island of Korcula. Our guides so knowledgeable and happy to tell us their history. So many highlights to this tour I could return and do it all again.

Judy thank you for a wonderful and well organised tour.

"I would recommend "Girls On Tour" with Judy Polkinghorne to girls of all ages. The holiday preparations were thorough and all aspects of our journeys were comprehensively explained. Nothing was too much trouble. A phone number was supplied for family members at home to contact us should the need arise.

Accommodation, side trips, local guides, transport, meals were all top class. Everyone felt safe and for first time travellers, in fact any traveller, this was very important. I hope to take the opportunity to go with Judy and her group on another exciting journey soon."

"I have just finished my 3rd tour with you, doing the “Treasures of the Balkans” tour, and my only complaint is that it ended.

My travelling friend, Jill and I have both voted this tour the best tour we have been on. Our fellow companions were great company and as always led by the best travel person we have come across, in yourself.

When we decided to do this tour we were not sure what to expect of the Balkans, but truly enjoyed every portion of it. It is a very beautiful part of the world and the history is amazing. I had a vague idea of its history, but you and your local tour guides were able to give us the history of this part of the world as well as the recent battles which have torn the country apart.

The islands off the coast of Croatia are really something, and I think the Greek Islands are far below the standards of these islands. If I were younger I could see myself spending months cruising along this coastline.

I forgot to mention that as well as a person that does not miss a trick in looking after our needs, we also get a first grade photographer, as any one that has followed Judy’s Facebook page, will testify.

Can’t wait for my next adventure with GIRLS ON TOUR.

Thanking you one more time,"

Dear Judy,

I would like to thank you for the great tour of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Montenegro. What a surprise these countries were, even though I had no idea what to expect. Of course I knew about their years of war and devastation, but seeing how they have recovered is heart-warming. The local guides in the different areas were so frank and open about their countries and very informative explaining their countries pathways to the present. Their knowledge of and use of the English language has to be commended.

I particularly enjoyed your company and that of the other girls. We were a "small group" of 11 ladies from different parts of Australia. Being a small group made it easier to get to know one another. Everyone was friendly and all mixed well together. Other larger groups that I have travelled with previously do not have this easy feeling about them. A great way to travel.

I look forward to travelling again with you and 'Girls On Tour'.
