After amazing adventures to Antarctica and Galapagos in 2014 and 2017 we are delighted and excited to be returning to the Great White Continent once again. This amazing adventure includes stays in Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Quito and the amazing Iguassu Falls. It includes a 10 day Antarctic Cruise onboard “Ocean Atlantic” and a 6 day Galapagos Cruise (5 days cruising plus 1 night pre cruise). We will visit the famous La Boca district in Buenos Aires, famous for its Tango, we will overnight in and visit Iguassu Falls and in Ushuaia will visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Our Antarctica experience begins as we cross the Drake Passage following ‘the steps’ of Sir Francis Drake as we sail through the Southern Ocean with the chance to see seabirds, whales and other marine creatures. We will make our way southwards to the South Shetland Islands and to the Antarctic Peninsula. Our Galapagos adventure begins in Guayaquil before joining our cruise vessel, Alia in the Galapagos Islands to explore the Northern and Central Islands including North Seymour, Genovesa Island, Sullivan Bay, Bartholomew Island, Santa Cruz and more!

An excursion today to the popular beach resort of Vina del Mar where elegant hotels, restaurants and parks offer a flavour of the French Riviera. Next we visit Valparaiso, Chile’s oldest port. (B)

Transfer to airport for outward flight to Guayaquil enroute to our Gálapagos adventure. (B)
Thu 7 Feb - GÁLAPAGOS Day 1
Transfer to airport for flight to Baltra in the Gálapagos Islands. On arrival we transfer to Alia, our home as we explore the archipelago. An afternoon excursion to North Seymour Island where blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds and Gálapagos sea lions are in abundance. (BD)
Fri 8 Feb - GÁLAPAGOS Day 2
Our first stop this morning is Darwin Bay on Genovesa Island. This white sand coral beach heads a half mile trail that winds through mangroves filled with land birds, Nazca boobies, red-footed boobies and swallow-tailed gulls. In the afternoon we visit El Barranco on Genovesa Island and more. (BLD)
Sat 9 Feb - GÁLAPAGOS Day 3
Our first visit today is to Sullivan Bay. A coral beach landing leads you towards a lava field as far as the eye can see. In the afternoon we visit Bartholomew Island, home of the famous Pinnacle Rock. The beach is perfect for snorkelling and possible sightings of the Galapagos Penguin. (BLD)
Sun 10 Feb - GÁLAPAGOS Day 4
Today we are back on the main island of Santa Cruz where our first stop is Dragon Hill, one of the newest visitor sites. The walking trail will lead us along the beach and up to the lagoon lookout where bright flamingos, pintail ducks and land iguanas can be spotted. Our afternoon visit is to Black Turtle Cove in the northern part of Santa Cruz where we have a chance to see sting rays, white-tip sharks and sea turtles. (BLD)
Mon 11 Feb - GÁLAPAGOS Day 5
After breakfast we disembark and spend the morning visiting the Santa Cruz Highlands before our transfer back to Baltra for our flight to Quito, 3 nights. (B)

Our city tour of Quito today explores the bustling streets and squares of the largest historical old town in the Americas. A highlight today is when we will visit Latitude 0o the exact Middle of the World. (B)
Wed 13 Feb - QUITO, ECUADOR
A full-day excursion today to the indigenous market of Otavalo, the most important indigenous market in South America. Along the way we will stop at Calderon and San Pablo Lake. (B)

A tour today to the colourful neighbourhood of La Boca to explore and enjoy local food and watch the Tango artists perform in the streets. Our tour of Buenos Aires will introduce you to this incredible city. We’ll explore the bustling city centre including Plaza de Mayo, and Recoleta Cemetery best known for holding Eva Peron’s grave. In the evening you’re in for a treat as we enjoy the ‘Argentine Experience”. You’ll make your very own empanada as well as enjoying world famous steak and other Argentinian delights. (BD)

Sun 17 Feb – IGUASSU FALLS
Today we explore the Argentinean side of the spectacular Iguassu Falls. We will take a ride on the Rainforest Ecological train before exploring the upper and lower circuit footbridges which are raised off the jungle floor to provide panoramic views above and below the falls. Devil’s Gorge will undoubtedly be a highlight of today’s tour before boarding our motor boat to get ‘wet and wild’ in the Lower Iguazu River rapids at the heart of the falls. (B)
Mon 18 Feb – TRAVEL DAY IGUASSU TO USHUAIA 2 nights
Today we fly to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world to begin our Antarctica adventure. After checking in the remainder of the day is ours to explore. (B)

Wed 20 Feb – DISCOVER ANTARCTICA CRUISE DAY 1
The morning is yours to explore Ushuaia before boarding our Antarctica vessel “Ocean Atlantic” in the afternoon and sail down the historic Beagle Channel towards the Great White Continent! (BD)
Thu 21 Feb - ANTARCTICA - Day 2
We spend the day at sea, through the legendary waters of the Drake Passage. If conditions allow, enjoy the ample outer deck space to look for dolphins, whales and orcas as well as seabirds including the mighty Albratross. (BLD)
Fri 22 Feb - ANTARCTICA - Day 3
Today we continue crossing the Drake Passage and hope to make landfall by early evening if conditions are favourable. The first sighting of land always brings great excitement on any expedition south. (BLD)
Sat 23 Feb – ANTARCTICA - Day 4 to Day 7
For the next four days we explore the Antarctic Peninsula that is famed for its majestic mountains, glaciers, calm waters and abundance of wildlife. Our lecture program continues during our voyage and sightseeing during this period is at its most spectacular off the ship’s outer decks. We hope to visit an active research station during our time on the peninsular (subject to approval) as well as explore well known sites such as the Lemaire Channel, Deception Island, Paradise Bay and Neko Harbour. Whilst on the Peninsular we will have our famous Antarctica quiz as well as a host of interesting night time activities. (BLD)
Wed 27 Feb – ANTARCTICA - Day 8
Leaving Antarctica behind we sail north to our home port of Ushuaia. We have time to reflect on our amazing journey and hear more wonderful talks on Antarctica. (BLD)
Thu 28 Feb – ANTARCTICA - Day 9
By the evening we hope to be back in the tranquil surrounds of the Beagle, ensuring a restful nights sleep. Our last meal together is often a highlight of any Chimu Adventures trip. (BLD)

Arrive in Ushuaia in the morning and transfer to the airport for our flight to Buenos Aires, 2 nights. (B)

This morning is at leisure to explore, shop or relax. Tonight we will be transported back in time thanks to the La Ventana Tango Show.
