Arrive in Broome and transfer to hotel to join the group for your Ultimate ‘Kimberley Wilderness Experience’. Check in and meet for briefing.
We depart Broome travelling the Great Northern Highway to the mighty Fitzroy River for morning tea at Willare Bridge Roadhouse. We visit the historic Boab Prison Tree prior to embarking along the scenic Gibb River Road to arrive at our first campsite at Silent Grove. Enjoy your first night camping in the outback.
It’s an early morning start to follow the Gibb River Road taking us across the rugged King Leopold Range and into cattle country. Walk into breathtaking Bell Gorge for a relaxed and refreshing swim. Our destination is Mt Barnett Station for the first of our two night camps on the banks of the Lower Manning River.
The morning includes a walk into Manning Gorge where you can admire ancient Indigenous art and swim in clear pools beneath the spectacular Manning Falls. The afternoon is a short drive and a pleasant stroll into picturesque Galvan’s Gorge for a swim beneath the Boab tree and waterfall. We return to Mt Barnett, a fire and your second night’s camp at Manning Creek.
Your tour continues east along the Gibb River Road. Along the way we will visit the Gibb River, Durack River and Indigenous art. Above Home Valley Station we take in the breathtaking view of the Cockburn Ranges. Crossing the renowned Pentecost River we make our way to the famous El Questro Station for our 3 night stay. Watch the magical light show as the Kimberley colours change as the sun lowers in the sky.
This morning we explore the stunning Emma Gorge Resort and hike the beautiful gorge. Along the way you will see the shimmering Turquoise Pool, prior to reaching the towering waterfall and enjoying a refreshing swim. Return to El Questro for an afternoon to relax at the Swinging Arm Bar, a river swim or enjoy the optional Champagne Chamberlain Cruise. A relaxed evening of laughter and shared experiences rounds out another perfect day on your ‘Adventure of a Lifetime’!
Soak your traveller body in thermal, crystal clear water beneath tropical palms at Zebedee Hot Springs. We explore the natural beauty of the fern lined El Questro Gorge, making our way to the halfway pool for a swim in this picturesque location. A relaxed afternoon and magical sunset at Pigeon Hole Lookout.
Depart El Questro via an optional scenic flight to explore Mitchell Falls or discover Kalumburu Indigenous Community. Either option reveals ancient Indigenous art and experiences. Please refer to Optional Tours for further details and pricing. Alternatively, enjoy a relaxed morning and the short drive to Kununurra, a unique town developed around the Ord River Scheme, Diversion Dam and agriculture. Take a walk into town and visit local art galleries. We camp at Ivanhoe Village Caravan Park, Kununurra for two nights.
Today is your day to relax and explore Kununurra and its abundance of natural wonders. This is a
fabulous opportunity to take an optional tour and explore Lake Argyle and the mighty Ord River. The scenery and wildlife, from rock wallabies to crocodiles and over 270 species of birds await you. The history and facts will astound you. Alternatively fish for Barramundi, swim in the pool or perhaps take an optional scenic flight. This ‘free’ day is blissfully yours to maximise your time in the East Kimberley. Return to camp for another sumptuous dinner and overnight at Kimberleyland Caravan Park.
Back on the road and we are ready to explore the World Heritage Listed, Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungles). Prior to leaving Kununurra we may visit Ivanhoe Crossing, Zebra Rock Gallery or local art galleries to view the creative artwork of local indigenous artists. Consider participating in that ‘once in a lifetime’ experience of an optional helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles. We will stay at Purnululu National Park for two nights.
The track in Purnululu National Park is four-wheel drive only. Our slow but scenic trip is the perfect approach to the wonder of the Bungle Bungles. The Domes Walk, Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm are on the ‘list’. We are in the midst of the Bungle Bungles and there is almost too much to see and do. We return to our campsite and enjoy our second night under a canopy of stars.
Our journey today leads us south along the Great Northern Highway and through some more incredible Kimberley landscapes. We travel to Halls Creek and visit the China Wall. Our destination is Fitzroy Crossing. Enjoy your final night camped by a billabong at our exclusive campsite on a working cattle station. Sleep under a billion stars and wake to the sounds of the outback.
The perfect start to our last day is a complimentary scenic river cruise exploring Geike Gorge. View spectacular multi-coloured 30 metre high cliffs carved by the floodwaters of the Fitzroy River through the Devonian fossil reef. Our final destination is lovely, tropical Broome where sadly we say goodbye to our AW hosts.
You have a free day to explore Broome and her surrounds. You may choose to go birdwatching, kayaking, visit the pearl farm, do a sunset camel safari, take an optional excursion to see the amazing Horizontal Falls or Cape Leveque or visit Broome Historical museum, the choices are endless and are yours.
A free day to explore Broome further or take an optional tour, perhaps sunset camel safari.
Check out from our hotel and explore Broome before transferring to airport for homeward journey.
