Join our 2026 tour and explore the historic sun-drenched Mediterranean in Malta and Sicily on our 18 day, small group, women-only tour.
The tour will start in Malta and finish in Catania, Sicily, Italy.
Malta is a small, strategically located island nation in the central Mediterranean, known for its rich history, unique culture blending European and North African influences, and stunning limestone landscapes. Comprising the islands of Malta, Gozo, and Comino, it boasts ancient temples, baroque cities like its capital Valletta, clear waters, and a history of conquests by Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, and the British, leading to its official languages of Maltese and English.
Sicily is Italy’s largest Mediterranean island, known for its unique blend of Greek, Roman, Arab, and Norman history, stunning coastlines, volcanic landscapes (Mount Etna), ancient ruins (Valley of the Temples), vibrant cities like Palermo (capital) and Catania, and distinctive cuisine (cannoli). As an autonomous Italian region, it boasts rich culture, diverse scenery from beaches to mountains, and remains a popular destination for its history, food, and Mediterranean charm, offering a mix of rugged nature and baroque architecture.

Arrive in Malta and transfer to our hotel in Sliema, Malta where we will enjoy 7 nights.
Full day tour of Valletta, the capital of Malta. See the Barracca Gardens with its view of the Grand Harbour, St John’s Cathedral with its Caravaggio painting and the Grand Masters Palace. End with the Malta experience multi-vision show that depicts the country’s history. Overnight Sliema
Full day tour of the historical area begins with a drive past Cospicua to Vittoriosa. Discover on foot the old, narrow streets and buildings. Take a ‘fregatina’ for a tour of the famous harbour creeks, a unique way to view the fortifications. End the tour in Senglea with its watchtower in the centre of the harbour. Overnight in Sliema.
Full day tour includes a visit to the Citadel of Mdina and its view of the island. Stop at the catacombs before proceeding to the Dingli Cliffs.
Visit the San Anton Gardens and the Mosta church with its impressive dome. End the day at the crafts centre of Ta’Qali.
Overnight Sliema.
Travel to Gozo. Visit the Megalithic temples of Ggantija, the Citadel in Victoria and boat ride to Fungus Rock. Return to Malta. Overnight Sliema.
Today we take a boat from Malta to the small island of Comino in the Maltese Archipelago to explore this little gem. On our return to Malta, the balance of the day is yours to explore.
Today is a free day at leisure to explore Malta at your own pace.
After breakfast, transfer to the ferry terminal as we say farewell to Malta. On arrival in Pozzallo port we will transfer to Modica and enjoy a chocolate factory tour on the way to our hotel with the balance of the day free.
After breakfast, departure to Agrigento, a hillside town famous for its magnificent Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit of the Valley, including the Temple of Concordia, which is in almost perfectly preserved condition, and the temples of Juno and Heracles.
In the afternoon we’ll proceed to Marsala, a city on the western coast famous for its production of sweet Sicilian wine. We will enjoy a farm experience including a winery tour and will have the opportunity to visit the cellar and learn all about winemaking. At the end of the tour, we will enjoy a wine tasting/light dinner.
After breakfast, departure to Erice via the spectacular “Salt Route”, a road flanked by the salt pans, windmills, and the “salt houses” where they still extract the sea salt as did the Phoenicians. Arrival in Erice, located on the top of a hill overlooking the city of Trapani and the Egadi Islands. Walk through its tiny and characteristic streets, the winding lanes, and inner courtyards. Stop for pastry tasting. Continue to Palermo, the capital of Sicily. We will enjoy lunch in town and then we’ll visit the Cathedral, one of the most important architectural monuments. Continue our visit by walking along Corso Vittorio Emanuele to reach “I Quattro Canti di Città” Piazza Pretoria, Piazza Bellini, and then visit the Church of Santa Caterina.
Morning visit to Monreale and admission to the Cathedral. Walking tour of Palermo’s historical centre of the town including Palazzo dei Normanni, Capo Markets, Teatro Massimo, Church of the Gesù and more. Enjoy free time for lunch today. This afternoon enjoy a Sicilian cooking class.
After breakfast we depart for the town of Cefalù, a former fishing village, now a charming coastal town. Enjoy a walk to the city centre and down the main street to reach the Arab-Norman Cathedral and the medieval washhouse built in the rock. Other points of interest include the fishermen’s quarter and Piazza del Duomo. Free time to explore the town. Transfer to Santo Stefano di Camastra with time to explore its multiple artisan workshops and ceramics. Continue on to Spiaggia di Testa di Monaco with photo stop on the way. Continue to Taormina and our included dinner.
After breakfast, cable car and jeep excursion to Mount Etna, (subject to weather conditions) the highest active Volcano in Europe. Weather conditions permitting, we will reach a height of 1800 metres to visit the Sylvester Craters where we’ll enjoy a spectacular panorama over the Ionian Sea. Stop at a local winery on the eastern slopes of Etna and visit a prestigious cellar. We will have the opportunity to taste different local wines. In the afternoon, return to Taormina, the charming city called “the pearl of the Ionian Sea”. Enjoy time at leisure for shopping or walking through its tiny streets. Possibility to visit the Greek-Roman Theatre on your own, with its spectacular view of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna.
Morning tour of Taormina taking in the main sights including Piazza Duomo, Corso Umberto, Piazza IX Aprile and Villa Comunale. Afternoon at leisure before our pizza making class for dinner.
After breakfast, transfer to Catania for our morning city tour of the city. Stroll through the city centre with your professional guide who will charm you with the history of the city and take you to visit the famous fish market “a piscaria” one of the largest fish markets in Sicily. As old as the city itself, it’s a great way to experience the abundant fishing and seafood culture of Sicily, with a very special and authentic atmosphere.
After breakfast, departure to Siracusa: visit the World Heritage Site “Neapolis”. The visit of this archaeological area includes the famous Greek theatre, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Latomie of Paradise, and the “Dionysius Ear”. Continue to the island of Ortigia, the small baroque old city centre of Siracusa. Visit the beautiful Cathedral, which is built upon the site of the Doric Temple of Minerva, the legendary Arethusa’s Fountain, and the Temple of Apollo. We’ll enjoy a light lunch of street food and afternoon at leisure to stroll through the streets of the centre and for shopping. Return to your hotel in Catania for overnight.
Today we farewell Sicily and make our way to Catania Airport for our homeward flight.
